ROOF TRUSSES
Delivery and Installation of Roof Trusses
The Trussed Rafter Association (TRA) produces guides for handling and installing roof trusses. As a member of the TRA we are able to provide our customers copies of these which can be downloaded here.
HOW TO SAFELY INSTALL ROOF TRUSSES
The installation of your roof trusses requires specific construction skills involving working at height and handling unstable materials.
Prior to installing your roof trusses a full site-specific risk assessment must be undertaken. Furthermore, the installation of roof trusses should only be undertaken by suitably experienced and qualified personnel, such as those with a Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry.
For further clarification, please ensure to read the TRA’s guide on how to safely install roof trusses.
GUIDE TO SAFELY HANDLING, STORING AND INSTALLING ROOF TRUSSES
As a TRA member, part of our service is the assistance with defining safe and effective systems of work to meet regulatory requirements.
The responsibility of safely unloading and storing roof trusses is with the customer. Documents are available from Scotts Timber Engineering upon request.
For more information, please read the TRA’s ‘Trussed Rafter – Handling, Storage and Installation Roadmap’.
