Billy Richardson, our Equestrian Sales Manager for our sister company, Scotts of Thrapston, has been promoted to group Head of Sales.
He is now responsible for our sales operations for both Scotts Timber Engineering and Scotts of Thrapston, with a considerable focus on business development.
“Scotts have significantly invested in the sales areas of the business in recent months, which has enabled us to secure some great projects. Now it’s my job to build upon that success, using the proven tactics I demonstrated in equestrian sales, and further increase our market share,” he explains.
Business development sits at the heart of Billy’s new role, so too does driving both companies forward in relation to their net zero journey.
“Product development and securing projects within new markets is a key priority; we’re constantly developing new products that push new boundaries and enable us to continue to achieve record-breaking growth. In the region of 75% of my time is spent on achieving our business development goals,” explains Billy.
“In the meantime, we’re firmly focused on helping our clients and the company make the transition to net zero. We’re currently working on timber/solar electric vehicle charging stations and are looking to transition to an all-electric fleet for staff. These innovations are only just the start and come in addition to us only working with PEFC-certified timber.”
Prior to joining Scotts, Billy worked in sales and business development within the building materials and glazing industries. Overall, he has more than a decades’ relevant experience.
Managing Director, James Scott, said: “This promotion means all our sales operations across both companies are in very capable hands. Given his corporate background and in-depth knowledge of the business, Billy has the expertise and experience to continue to build upon our existing success.
“What we have planned for the future is incredibly exciting and we’re pleased to have Billy at the helm, helping drive it all forward.”
