GR8 Space
Designer Loden Townsend has recently worked on an interesting project for a GR8 Space development in Henley in Arden.
The nine plots consisted of some complex designs, with attic trusses and posi joists combining to form the roof. This allowed the elimination of steels, replacing them with timber.
Local to Scotts’s Redditch factory, the site’s unusually shaped trusses eliminated all the steel beams within the architect’s drawings and framed instead in trusses and timber. Five of the plots use trusses to form the dormer structure providing access to the balcony area.
The development is showcased here.
Loden’s ability to design out the steels was what won Scotts Timber Engineering this first time project from GR8 Space.
