Timber Frame Popularity Accelerates
In Scotland, timber frame construction has long been the housebuilding method of choice – currently accounting for 85% of the new homes market according to the Structural Timber Association (STA).
Historically this figure is much lower in England, but real progress is apparent say the STA, with growth from 12% to 15% over the year to Nov 25.
This means nearly a quarter of new home builds across the UK now use timber frame – and this will only accelerate with the adoption of the build methodology by many of our national housebuilders, including Vistry, Persimmon and Barrett Redrow.
Little wonder when it’s quicker and more cost effective than traditional builds – and offers dramatic benefits to the environment.
Our Timber Frame team, led by Sandeep Channa, is seeing regional and local builders increasingly switching at least part of their build programme to timber frame.
David Hunt, Business Development Manager, is happy to talk to anyone considering taking the plunge. “When the choice of timber frame can speed up a build, reduce costs and improve carbon footprint of a build with no negative impact on quality, it’s a win on every front for developers.”
For those who haven’t yet made taken the first step to including timber frame in their build programmes, our team are on hand to discuss and support them in the move. For more information visit www.scottste.co.uk/timber-frame, call us today on 01832 732366 or email thrapston@scottste.co.uk.
