Timber Frame Design Capacity
With the increasing popularity of timber frame construction projects, Head of Design at Scotts, Lawrence Raven is expanding our timber frame design capacity to meet demand into the future.
“By providing dedicated training across my design team, we’re developing a deeper understanding of timber frame design and construction, while exploring how we can make better use of the capabilities of MiTek Pamir software across our design disciplines,” he commented. “By broadening the team’s expertise, we’re looking to create a more versatile and knowledgeable design department to support our timber frame team, strengthen collaboration between disciplines and ultimately enhance the service we can offer our customers.”
Designer Tyler Jolley has completed Mitek’s two day in person course:
“Spending a couple of days at MiTek’s new HQ in Worcester was a really good opportunity to get stuck into Pamir for timber frame, and having a look around their modern factory facility while there was great to see. The course walked through the basics of building detailed designs and getting fabrication drawings together from scratch. It’s a great first step for myself as we start widening what we can offer at Scotts, and I’m looking forward to building on it as we take on more timber frame work.”
Meanwhile, Ben Fett, Macauley Morton and Lawrence have commenced the online training – Lawrence concludes:
“Developing our team’s skills and deepening their technical knowledge is an important part of our continued growth at Scotts. We already have established timber frame design expertise within the business through our specialist designer and Head of Timber Frame, Sandeep Channa, and we’re now looking to build on that knowledge by upskilling our existing roof truss and engineered floor design team.”
