Here’s some photo’s from a site visit by Ethan Johnston, from our Business Development team to a Berkeley Homes development in Wallingford, Oxfordshire.
Berkeley Homes is a long-standing customer of Scotts, and this site is currently in its second phase. The porches are manufactured by the joinery team at our timber engineering factory in Thrapston, Northants.
Porches are just one of the products supplied to the housebuilding sector by Scotts Timber Engineering, alongside trusses, joists, panels, carports, car barns and timber frame.
Our team creates complete bespoke porch kits including structural and joinery timbers, plywood, gallows brackets, porch posts and post bases designed to suit individual developments. Whatever the style of home, we can design porches as well as canopies that are curved, pitched or angled using fully mortised and tenoned joints.
British weather is notoriously changeable, so a well-designed porch canopy is a functional way of providing shelter from the elements, both rain and sunshine. To withstand the weather, both our porches and our canopies are made from premium timbers such as Redwood, Whitewood, Oak, Douglas Fir or Accoya.
