Over 100 Years in Timber Frame
Talk timber frame construction methods to English housebuilders, and they’ll tell you about how the market is moving to adopt this faster, greener and lower cost technology, where quality is to high factory standards.
(We say English deliberately – timber frame has been the most popular method of housebuilding in Scotland for a very long time!)
And, of course, we agree. Our Timber Frame division is seeing a real scaling in the volume housing sector as housebuilders seek to get ahead of the Future Homes Standard and reap the other benefits of timber frame construction.
Our experience in timber frame buildings, which we’re using to such good effect for SME as well as volume housebuilders, actually goes back over a century when the first generation of Scotts expanded from wheelbarrows and ladders to agricultural buildings and stables. To this day, our successful Equestrian & Buildings division uses our timber frame expertise to build some of the finest stables and bespoke buildings in the UK.
We’re still a family business – MD James Scott is the fourth generation of the family to lead the company. “Our commitment to supplying the highest quality timber buildings hasn’t changed since 1920,” he explained. “We continue to manufacture timber frame for equestrian markets, the sports and education sectors as well as highly engineered timber frame panels for the UK’s SME and volume housebuilders.”
