The Oaks is a new housing development in Selly Oak by national housebuilder, Persimmon Homes. The development features a range of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes situated next to the Bournville Village Conservation area, yet only 15 minutes away from Birmingham City Centre.

Scotts Timber Engineering supplied roof trusses and spandrel panels for apartment blocks and houses across the site, to suit the housebuilder’s requirement across three phases of the development. The latest phase was for apartment buildings as well as 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes.
In addition to timber roof trusses, we supplied party wall and gable end spandrel panels. Persimmon Homes was impressed with the effective supply on the first phases of the development, which led to our ongoing involvement with the project.
We provide bespoke designs for roof trusses, spandrel panels or metal web joists, for all types of housebuilders. Prefabricated spandrel panels are increasingly in demand as an alternative to traditional masonry gable ends and separating walls within the roof space.
Delivered as part of the trussed rafter package, spandrel panels are pre-assembled and are manufactured to the same roof profile as the trussed rafters. They are designed to meet the housebuilder’s specific project requirement and offer great flexibility in terms of performance as a sound and fire barrier.
